Glen Scotia was founded in 1832 as Scotia Distillery on the West Coast of Scotland in Argyll and Bute, nestled on the Kintyre peninsula. By 1835, it was one of almost 30 thriving distilleries in the Campbeltown area. Campbeltown was named the “Whisky Capital of the World” in the Victorian era. Today, there are only three distilleries left, although others are in the planning stages. Much of the equipment at the distillery is the original design and much of the process has remained unchanged. They make both peated and unpeated whiskies and all have a thread of their coastal, maritime location. A true, classic, Campbeltown malt.
