Since it was discovered in the 17th century that molasses, a by-product of refining sugar, could be fermented into alcohol, the world has called yo-ho-ho for the spirit of the Caribbean. The Royal Navy adopted it as a ration for sailors and it became a favorite of American colonists. Barbarossa is our homage to this long, colorful tradition.
