Sigrid Chardonnay is an homage to their Swedish grandmother whose spirit, grace, and strength inspired three generations of Bergstrm children. After harvesting each of their estate vineyards by hand, they ferment the fruit separately in small French oak barrels, where it undergoes full malolactic fermentation and aging sur lie for 18 months. Only then do we select the finest of these barrels for our Sigrid Chardonnay. In a bottle of Sigrid, you will find the layered textures, mineral structure, fresh citrus and stone-fruit flavors and floral aromas we hope will inspire you to continue following the Oregon renaissance of this noble white grape.

An elegantly floral, aromatic perfume of tropical blossoms, honeysuckle, herbal tea infusion, Meyer lemon, and a distinctly Oregonian note of hazelnuts. This wine has wonderful viscosity with citrus (lemon, grapefruit, mandarin, orange), white tea, and mint flavors, with good concentration and sweetness. Very suave, silky, and weightless on the palate.

Bergstrm Wines, a first-generation American family business, is one of the most unique and lauded domaines in the Willamette Valley. Dr. John Bergstrm’s Swedish heritage and the love he developed for the Pacific Northwest are the roots of this estate. In 1999, John and his son, Josh, established Bergstrm Wines and today, Josh and Caroline, his wife and business partner, are celebrating more than 25 years as biodynamic growers of estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards on the finest appellations within Oregon’s Willamette Valley.

Dr. John Bergstrm’s Swedish heritage and the love he developed for the Pacific Northwest are the roots of this estate. In 1999, John and his son, Josh, established Bergstrm Wines. Today, Josh and Caroline, his wife and business partner, are celebrating more than 25 years as biodynamic growers of estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vineyards on the finest appellations within Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Their farming program consists of five monopole, biodynamic estate vineyards spanning 70 acres across three of the Willamette Valley’s finest and most exclusive AVA’s: The Bergstrm Vineyard, Le Pré du Col, La Spirale, Silice, and the Winery Block. Each vine is farmed without the use of harsh fertilizers, insecticides, herbicides or systemic fungicides. Instead, Josh and his farming team focus on homemade compost, homeopathic herbal and mineral teas, and regenerative agricultural practices that coax maximum expression from the unique terroir. Bergstrm Wines' motto is that every one of their bottles is made with 1,000 days of effort. Farming, fermenting and finishing wine takes time, patience, and precision. With over 25 years’ experience, the dedication to detail and relentless pursuit of quality is evident in every bottle of Bergstrm Wines.
