This wine is exclusively coming from the terroir òEn Bertilionne’ the highest terroir of Pouilly-Solutr© village sitting at 350m elevation with deep chalky limestones marls.

The palate is vibrant, with a hint of bitterness and biting acidity. The balance is harmonious and highly nuanced, with notes of peach and honeysuckle

Domaine du Roc des Boutires has 4.2 hectares on an east-west oriented strip at the same latitude of the village of Pouilly on Jurassic limestone interlaced with clay and shale, the same substratum as the premiers and grands crus of the C¥te d’Or. The vines of Chardonnay, mostly planted in the beginning of the 1970s, are flowering here with the greatest respect for the natural environment. All wines come from the estate vineyard exclusively.

In the village of Pouilly, in the heart of Pouilly-Fuiss© AOC, lies the Domaine du Roc des Boutires. It originates from two names: the proximity with Roche de Solutr©, which is an emblem of the appellation and a testament to the extraordinary geologic richness of the vineyard; and its settlement in the very heart of one of the best terroirs of the appellation, òAux Bouthi®res’. In ancient French vocabulary, a òbouti®re’ means a secondary road that mule skinners used for the transportation of oils and wines in remote parts of the country. The vineyard is actually 5 kilometers west from the ancient Roman track of Via Agrippa, on a very small road which is now leading to the village of Solutr©, the hills of the Maconnais and the plains of the Charolais.
