The original still to produce the British Navy rum, the Port Mourant still was constructed in 1732 on the Port Mourant Estate from one of Guyana’s most abundant natural resourcesîgreenheart wood, an evergreen revered as one of the densest, most durable woods on Earth. Over 250 years old, the still was moved to the Uitvlugt Estate before finally finding a permanent home at Plantation Diamond where it has been producing small batches of this El Dorado heritage rum since the turn of the century.
