Ruby red with purple hues. Prominent tobacco and leather on the nose; ripe blackberry and blueberry with hints of cocoa, baking spice, and delicate pine. Juicy and medium bodied; reveals rich fruits, sweet herbs, and milk chocolate; leads to plush tannins and an elegant finish.
Colour: Dark and profound ruby red. Bouquet: This wine offers the nose full and intense aromas with hints of plums, jams of red fruits and sweet accents of spices. Flavour: A wine of a good body, it has a mouth-filling flavour that is warm and soft and expresses a highly mature fruitiness, supported by a pleasant complex of sweet tannins.
In the 4th century B.C., the history of Masseria Altemura began with the construction of the Santa Susana Tower. Masseria Altemura, similar to other masserias, was a fortified farmhouse in Puglia that served the purpose of protecting the land and its resources from foreign invaders. In 2000, the Zonin family acquired the property and restored it to its original splendor. The family has gone to great lengths to preserve the estate's underground river, century old olive groves and the region's winemaking traditions for future generations.
