The thirteenth chapter of WhistlePig's legendary Boss Hog series, The Golden Pharaoh, is one of the most ambitious limited-edition rye whiskeys released in 2026. Inspired by a tiger nut cake recipe carved into an ancient Egyptian tomb more than 3,000 years old, this single barrel straight rye whiskey is the first Boss Hog release to draw its inspiration from Africa.
The Golden Pharaoh begins its maturation in new American oak, then undergoes a first-of-its-kind finish in barrels seasoned with Egyptian black honey and tiger nuts. The result is a rich, earthy, deeply sweet rye with remarkable aromatic depth. Every bottle comes from a single barrel and is bottled at proof, between 102.6 and 105.6 proof (51.3%–52.8% ABV), so each one carries its own unique character.
Each bottle is crowned with a pewter pig pharaoh topper inspired by King Tut and etched with hieroglyphics. The collector box opens like an unsealed tomb, revealing jewel-toned artwork, and an NFC-authenticated back label lets collectors verify and register ownership.
