Woodford Reserve, the Presenting Sponsor of the Kentucky Derby, honors "The Greatest Two Minutes in Sports" with the release of the 2023 commemorative Derby 149 bottle. This year's special release celebrates the 50th anniversary of one of the most iconic moments in sports history: Secretariat winning the 1973 Derby, still the fastest at 1:59 2/5. Bottled at 90.4 proof (45.2% ABV).
The bottle features the artwork of Kentucky native Jaime Corum, known for her stunning horse portraits. Her painting captures Secretariat in the Winner's Circle at Churchill Downs, entitled "Secretariat – Still the Greatest."
Inside the bottle is Woodford Reserve's signature Kentucky Straight Bourbon, built on a mash bill of 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. Only the label artwork is exclusive to this 149th Derby release; the bourbon itself is the same award-winning Distiller's Select that's made Woodford Reserve one of America's most celebrated distilleries.
Sip it neat or on the rocks to appreciate its smooth, complex profile, or pour it to toast any Derby-day celebration.
It is bottled at 90.4 proof, which is 45.2% ABV.
No. Only the label artwork is exclusive to this Derby 149 release; the bourbon inside is the same Woodford Reserve Distiller's Select.
