r°gya, means "God’s bed". The vineyard sits in a dip between two extinct volcanoes to the west of M°d. Viewed from our village it is where we see the sun "go to sleep" every night. Our vines are on the western slope in the higher parts of the vineyard. The unique volcanic soils build the structure, backbone and minerality of this delicious dry wine. Maturation in oak barrels adds further complexity and roundness.

r°gya Furmint offers a captivating balance of structure, minerality, and freshness. A golden hue in the glass reveals its depth, while the nose is a complex blend of crisp citrus, white stone fruits, and subtle oak spice. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied yet precise, with vibrant acidity that lifts its bold flavors of green apple, lemon zest, and hints of white flowers.

Tokaji is the world’s original sweet white wine – the 'cult wine' of the 18th and 19th centuries – and the Tokaj wine region was the first to have classified vineyards. At the end of the 17th century, Prince Rakoczi classified the finest vineyards into: great first growths, first growths, second growths, and third growths. Royal Tokaji owns five of those first and second growth vineyards, including one of Hungary’s two great first growths: M©zes M°ly. The winery produces a range of exceptional wines from dry to sweet, including several single vineyard asz (botrytis-affected) wines and Essencia, the free-run juice of botrytised (or raisined) grapes. The wines’ distinct character results from the varied volcanic soils of the classified vineyards, indigenous grapes and yeast, traditional winemaking methods and barrel-aging in the winery’s 13th century underground cellars. Richness with vibrant acidity is the hallmark of all the Royal Tokaji wines.
