Pago del Cielo brings together Familia Torres work in the Ribera del Duero region over the last 20+ years, where they have been striving to achieve the maximum expression from the terroir of this land. Pago del Cielo is named in honor of it's winery, which was established in 2004 and represented Familia Torres first expansion outside of Catalunya. The winery sits at DO Ribera del Duero's highest altitudes, nearly 900 meters above sea level. The wine is a true expression of the winery’s two most emblematic vineyards, which stand out for their soils, vine age, and location in the finest areas of the region.
Rich blue fruit accompanied by subtle mineral undertones and floral aromas of iris. Notes of dried tobacco, spice and tomato leaf add complexity. The palate showcases impressive concentration, with brooding black fruit character. The acidity is balanced, lending to a wonderful overall experience.
Pago del Cielo Winery, founded by the Torres family in 2004, spans the prestigious regions of Ribera del Duero and Rueda. With a focus on crafting modern, elegant wines, the winery benefits from high-altitude vineyards in Ribera del Duero that enhance the aromatic intensity of their reds. In Rueda, the estate vineyards on the banks of the Duero River have unique alluvial soils which highlight the expressiveness of their Verdejo. Led by Winemaker Juan Ramn Garca, Pago del Cielo combines tradition, quality, and a passion for the unique terroirs of the regions.
The Torres family's deep commitment to the land in DO Castilla y Len reached new heights with the establishment of the Pago del Cielo Winery in 2004. Led by Winemaker Juan Ramn Garca, this ambitious project seeks to produce modern, meticulously crafted wines that reflect the elegance and expressive potential of both Ribera del Duero and Rueda's terroir. In Ribera del Duero, the winery sits at 895 meters above sea level, in Fompedrazaîthe highest point of the appellationîwhere breathtaking landscapes and an ideal climate combine to create red wines of remarkable aromatic intensity. The vineyards, nestled within the municipality of Campo de Pe±afiel (Valladolid), are often described as ""within reach of the sky,"" a testament to the altitude, which moderates the effects of the harsh continental climate. In the neighboring region of Rueda, Pago del Cielo's vineyards in Villafranca del Duero occupy the westernmost part of the DO. This stunning location is perfect for producing white wines that highlight the distinctive and authentic characteristics of the Verdejo grape. With roots in both Ribera del Duero and Rueda, Pago del Cielo embodies a blend of tradition, a commitment to quality, and a deep passion for viticulture.
